Spring in Minnesota is a wonderful time! We’ve endured the long and brutal winter, and now we’re rewarded with lush greenery, thousands of shimmering lakes, blooming flowers and temperate spring weather.
But for some, spring signals seasonal allergies - runny nose, watery eyes, and endless coughing triggered by the colorful blooms around them. Massage therapy is a fantastic way to help alleviate the pain and pressure associated with sinus problems. Simply lying face down can immediately relieve allergy symptoms, and this position gives your therapist a chance to work on the upper back and shoulders, where many sinus trigger points are located. The gentle massage will increase circulation and release muscle tension caused by the constant sneezing, coughing and general discomfort you might be experiencing. Here's to enjoying the warmer weather, beautiful scenery, and all the spring activities Minnesota has to offer! Real Customer Story I have a client who, aside from having allergies, also has flares of COPD. Scheduling monthly massage therapy helps to relax her muscles. Massage also helps take the strain and tightness out of the shoulders and neck. But many times the biggest benefit is from relaxing the back and the muscles in between the ribs which physically makes it easier for the client to breathe. I am also a certified lymphedema therapist so if the client has a bad allergy flare up, I can manually drain the lymphatic system which helps increase the client’s overall immunity and helps clear allergens.
