Did you know that thirty-nine states in the United States require practicing massage therapists to be licensed and or nationally certified? The state of Minnesota, however, is one of the eleven states that does not currently have a statewide licensing board, nor do they require massage therapists to be nationally certified.
Paul and Rita Scholl, owners and massage therapists at Living Touch Massage in Bemidji, are a “test above the rest." They both earned certificates from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
Although it is not required by the state of Minnesota to be nationally certified to practice massage therapy, Paul knew both the business and their clients would benefit greatly from being nationally certified.
